Every month of the Year.... Welly Paddlers Organises an Event.....after Christmas we run the Summer / Autumn Series.
After each event we will hold a "Spot Prize" draw within 10 minutes of the last paddler coming off the water. Following the spot prize draw it is traditional the we head to the nearest local cafe to re-fuel :-)......This is of course optional.
There will be no motorised safety craft monitoring paddlers - all craft and paddlers must practice self rescue....however we do sweep through the field to follow the final paddlers in. Being a friendly event all paddlers will keep an eye on each other and help each other out when needed.
Welly Paddlers operate our events under our Welly Paddlers Standard Operational Procedures/ safety / 2019.
The expectation for all our Events is that all paddlers adhere to the Greater Wellington Regional Council Harbours Department bylaws -
We operate on VHF channel 77 during our Events.
