This is one of the highlights of the NZ weightlifting calendar — a two-day national championship where Masters athletes from across the country come together to compete in the Snatch and Clean & Jerk.

Masters weightlifting is for athletes aged 30 and over, competing in age and bodyweight categories. It's a sport that rewards technical skill, consistency, and years of dedication — and watching it live is genuinely impressive.

Whether you're here to compete, support a friend, or just curious what Olympic weightlifting actually looks like up close — come down and check it out. Entry to spectate is free and everyone is welcome.

What to expect:
Two full days of competition across multiple sessions, with athletes lifting in a range of weight categories.
