Nestled in the breathtaking Bovlei Valley, Val du Charron Wine and Leisure Estate offers luxury accommodation and gastronomic experiences just ten minutes from Wellington and less than an hour’s drive from Cape Town. In 2006, the current owners purchased the 45 Ha farm in the historic Bovlei valley, ten minutes from the town of Wellington, and under an hour’s drive from Cape Town and re-established the winemaking tradition that started there back in 1699. They christened the farm Val du Charron as a tribute to the rich history and culture of the area. Val du Charron means Valley of the Wagonmakers. This was the original name of the Wellington valley. The French influence stems from the Huguenots who settled in the area in the early 1700’s while the reference to wagon making refers to the fact that Wellington was the last town where the Afrikaner’s ox wagons could be serviced before heading over the majestic Bainskloof into the hinterland. The aim of the 3km is to introduce kids to trail running and a healthy lifestyle, while spending great time with family and friends. It might be a little longer or shorter. I will do my best to have it as close to the promoted distance as possible. Registration is always open one-hour before the start of the 17km distance. You can buy a permanent tag for R100 that can be used at all events timed with BoutTime. Live results and sms with your results and time included. R50 Late entry fee. All unpaid entries will be removed after 3 days. Waterpoints will be available. It is however always advised to be self-sufficient when it comes to hydration when you run. Hydration will be available at the waterpoints. Sorry. No food or sweeties. We want you to support the farm and vendors after your run.
