Celebrate Matariki with a joyful splash into the moana — a chance to connect, reset, and support mental wellbeing — followed by warming kai and hot drinks.

Hear from the Kura Kelpers from Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Ngā Mokopuna about their involvement in the Love Rimurimu project,  and chat with the team about how our baby seaweeds are growing.

We’ll be staying close to shore — come for a dip, or simply relax on the beach. Everyone is welcome.

What to bring:

Please arrive wearing your togs/swimmers with plenty of warm layers over the top. Bring a towel and warm clothes to change into afterwards before heading up to the Worser Bay Boating Clubrooms for hot drinks and kai.

Safety reminders:

- This is a quick dip, not a long-distance ocean swim
- You are responsible for your own safety in the water — please swim within your comfort zone
 -Stay within the designated swim zone, marked by dive flags and buoys
- Swim with a buddy and stay together at all times
- Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian both in and out of the water
- Please look after yourself and exit the water before you get too cold

In an emergency, the shore team will blow their whistle three times. If you hear this, exit the water immediately and follow directions from the shore team.
