- **Event Description**: Continuing our annual tradition of Live Cinema, the Wellington Film Society is excited to invite you along to our 2026 screening of Victor Sjöström's 'The Wind', with live musical accompaniment from hara and Thomas Arbor.

Swedish director Victor Sjöström made 'The Wind' in 1928, after being hand-picked by silent film superstar Lillian Gish. Gish plays Letty, a young woman who travels to an isolated Texas ranch where she finds the locals inhospitable and the wind unbearable. We thought this film would resonate particularly well with our Wellington audiences, who can probably sympathise a lot with Letty!

Members of the Wellington Film Society do not need to book to attend this Tuesday screening.
