The Line Dance Teacher, Debbie Holman from Cowley College in Arkansas City Kansas. 

My Mom, Doris Kendrick taught fitness classes for many years in Wellington. 

She organized the first square dance club in Wellington called the Whirl-A-Ways in the early 1970's which was active for many years along with the incomparable smooth and melodic voice of Square Dance Caller Bud Peluso.

The Whirl-A-Ways traveled all around Kansas performing and attending  National Functions.

 She also ran a dance studio in Wellington for many years called The Studio school of dance and gymnastics where I began my career in Dance, Health and Fitness which is paradoxical considering how unhealthy my lifestyle was. 

She also owned and operated a beauty salon for over 30 years in Wellington called DJ's Salon where she had been invited to be one of the stylists for the Olympics. 

Her accolades could fill a book.

So it's going to be fun working with my Mom again for this event and Debbie Holman who has a heart of gold is also donating her time. 

Space is tight at the senior center but I believe it'll be perfect. 

Most dance floors aren't that big anyway unless you go to a real Ballroom or somewhere like the Wichita Union Stockyards run by 107.9 on your radio dial😁

We'll be doing three to four beginner level line dances and several partner style dances such as Country Two-Step, Foxtrot, Waltz, Rumba, Swing and Cha- Cha using only a few simple elements.

We're sticking close to a country theme but will use a variety of music styles that fit just about any social function involving music such as weddings, country music venues, pop music venues and the like. 

The workshop is for the extreme beginner mapping out the ABC'S of line dancing and partner styles of movement. 

This free event is open to all ages but is geared for our more mature neighbors. 

Oh, it's also geared to have fun and not take ourselves too seriously. I mean that, seriously 😁

*No partner is necessary
