✨ Scout-Style Moccasin Making Workshop
Led by Mika of Indigenous Dreams — Mohawk Turtle Clan, Six Nations ✨
Step into a day of tradition, creativity, and hands-on learning as we welcome Mika from Indigenous Dreams for an immersive Scout-Style Moccasin Making Workshop. Rooted in centuries of teachings, moccasins are more than footwear—they are stories, tools, protection, and an expression of identity passed lovingly from generation to generation.
In this four-hour workshop, Mika — a Mohawk Turtle Clan member from Six Nations — will guide you through the history, cultural significance, and purpose behind moccasin making. Learn why certain styles were crafted the way they were, how practicality and environment shaped design, and the deeper meaning these garments hold within Indigenous communities.
You’ll then be guided step-by-step to handcraft your own pair of scout-style moccasins using quality materials. From pattern cutting to stitching techniques, you’ll gain both skill and insight, leaving with a finished pair of moccasins infused with respect, intention, and teachings.
This workshop offers a meaningful opportunity to learn, create, and connect with Indigenous knowledge in a respectful, collaborative setting.
