Whether you're just starting out or an experienced birder, this guided walk is for you.About this EventIMPORTANT NOTE RE: PARKINGThe parking lot at Merritt Island is currently closed and access to the park is via a side path near the regular entrance. Please meet at the aqueduct bridge to Merritt Island. Parking in city lots is free on the weekend; I recommend parking in one of the lots off Cross Street or Court House Lane.Join Brad Demers, author of Niagara Nature, for a morning bird hike at Merritt Island. We'll see our resident summer birds but perhaps a few early migratory birds as well. Open to everyone — this walk is aimed to be an introduction to birding, including how to recognize field marks, bird song, behaviour and more. We will walk down Merritt Island's riverside trail (weather and trail conditions permitting) and return along the paved upper trail. Attendees should be able to walk approximately 3km round trip.Download the Merlin and iNaturalist apps to add to your enjoyment of the day.
