The Weatherford Art Association welcomes watercolor artist Gaylord O’ Con for a demonstration at its June 23rd meeting from 6 -7:45 p.m., at the Senior Center, 1225 Holland Lake Drive in Weatherford.
Gaylord’s interest in art started as a young boy watching his grandmother paint the Louisiana pine forest scenes with homemade acrylic paints and later in life painting with his mother with oil paints.  He became even more interested in art and design during his 25 years of work experience as the managing partner of a Dallas based architectural-engineering firm where he met and worked with some the most noted national and international architectural designers. 
His architectural-engineering work experience, admiration for world class artists and personal love for design influenced his approach as he studied and taught himself to paint in watercolors. Although introduced to watercolors by Michael Borne, national signature artist and architect, Gaylord always strives to create his own art style. Watercolors quickly became his only medium. He also studied with architectural photographers learning the art of composition and the love for color. Gaylord has studied with many nationally recognized artists. 
 
 Gaylord enjoys teaching beginner and intermediate watercolor classes and has conducted demonstrations for many Texas watercolor societies, including The Woman's Club of Ft. Worth, Irving Art Society, SWA Art Society, and Weatherford Art Association. 

Weatherford Art Association looks forward to learning from Gaylord at the upcoming meeting. Meetings are open to the public.
