Eli will be presenting on (mycology) the native mushrooms and fungi of Texas! An overview of what fungi "are", identifying the different parts of a fungus, and some of the common fungi you will see in the DFW area.

Hi! I'm Eli Turner, and I'm a lover of all things natural! Raised a city-kid with a big heart for stray animals, in my adult years I've found a lot of joy in learning about the native animals, plants, and fungi that call Texas home. I am an amateur mycologist (studier of mushrooms) and a citizen scientist - in my professional life, I work an office job in Human Resources. My obsession with fungi came about in my college years; fungi are fascinating organisms, this weird middle ground between plants and animals. The more I learn about them, the more amazed I am - and I hope you will be too!
