It will be from Pt 28- (Mapleberry Farms) to Pt 26. (6.4 miles) (466 ft Ascent)Hike #5a (short hike) will meet at Scioto Trail Pt 26 (same place as the previous day) NO LATER than 10:00a.m. on Sunday, April 26, 2026. (Best practice is to try to arrive at 9:45.) We will then shuttle in as few cars as possible to our hike start at Scioto Trail Point 28- (Mapleberry Farms.)We will leave PROMPTLY at 10:00 am to shuttle to our Hike Start location!**NOTE: Hike #4b is the day before, on Saturday, April 25th - Please sign up separately.**SHORT HIKE STARTING POINT: Scioto Trail Point 28-(Mapleberry Farms)458 Mt Tabor RdWaverly, OH 45690Use these coordinates: **.XXXXXX, -**.XXXXXXCindy, the Central Ohio Chapter Chair will lead this shorter hike, which will be a more moderate to easy pace, although the hills will still be challenging. Scioto Trail is a strenuous section of the Buckeye Trail.We may or may not have a sweep on this hike, so know your limits and join the appropriate hike for your abilities! If you know you are slower, make sure someone in your group has a car parked at the end so you can finish up your hike at your own pace. However, please keep in mind CIRCUIT HIKE COMMON COURTESY entails that everyone takes their turn to shuttle fellow hikers to/from the starting/ending locations so no one gets left stranded. Make sure your cars are cleared out enough to be able to shuttle 2-4 passengers.For the shorter hike that I will be leading, I hike no faster than around a 2.8-3.0 pace on roads, and a 1.5 to 2.5 pace on trails, depending on the total ascent.These differently paced hikes and hike lengths allow for every hiking level from Beginner to Advanced. COMMON CIRCUIT HIKING COURTESY is to take your turn shuttling. If you don’t have to shuttle on one hike, please volunteer on the next one.Be prompt.
