Tiny Arts Inverleigh Exhibition Launch
Sunday 17th May, 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Discover the art of coiling to create a basket in this hands-on workshop using raffia. All materials supplied. Participants will learn how to start a coil, shape their work, and finish it neatly.

Once you have completed the workshop, you will have skills that can then be applied to many other natural fibres, including pine or sheoak needles, New Zealand flax, red hot poker, and other plants that can be foraged or even found growing in your own garden.

Helen De Lange is a fibre artist who works with both natural and man-made fibres, often incorporating recycled and repurposed materials. With a strong commitment to minimising waste, she transforms used, leftover or discarded fibres into functional and wearable pieces.

Based in Geelong , Helen has been working with fibres for several years, with a particular focus on giving new life and purpose to overlooked materials.

Helen is a member of the Geelong Fibre Artists. The group's recent exhibition “Tides of Change” at the Queenscliff Neighbourhood House showcases work that reflects this theme. Helen's pieces explore renewal and transformation through the creative reuse of fibre.
