Wayngurrla, To Make Good  pays homage to the reciprocal relationships between Wadawrruung kin kin bil and the owners of the property, the Austin family.

This exhibition celebrates the lived experiences of first custodians’ ancestors, and how they were interwoven with those of the Barwon Park Mansion. Thomas Austin was the original builder of the mansion, after his passing, he was survived by his wife, Elizabeth Austin and their children, who in their time were said to have fed many First Peoples as they passed through the mansion’s surrounding land.

Explore this exhibition which showcases some of our best first nations artists and their work and is something completely unique to the area.

📍 Barwon Park Mansion, 105 Inverleigh Road Winchelsea 3241 VIC

The exhibition is running every Sunday and Wednesday 11am-4pm until the end of May. Beyond this, Sundays from 11am-4pm. Guided Tours on the hour.

Artists: Aunty Marlene Gilson OAM and her children Robert, Dr Deanne,Tammy and Barry, alongside her grandchildren, Blair, Indigo, Max, Arlo, Piper and Mia.
 
Featured painting is Thomas, King Billy and the Duke by Marlene Gibson.
