This residential masterclass is designed for experienced clinicians who wish to examine their communication practice with the rigour it deserves. Over three intensive days, participants will critically appraise the evidence base underpinning complex clinical conversations, work with highly specialised simulated patients, and develop a transferable framework for communication excellence across patient care, team leadership and supervision. Cohort places are strictly limited to ensure a peer-level experience among senior clinicians. Waurn Ponds Estate sits on Deakin University's campus, one hour from Melbourne. Far enough from clinical demands to allow genuine reflection, close enough to remain accessible. The residential format is deliberate: the most productive conversations of the programme often happen outside the formal sessions and the Estate provides the environment to support that. During the masterclass delegates will: * Critically appraise the evidence base underpinning effective clinical consultations, identifying where current frameworks apply and where they fall short in complex or high stakes practice * Analyse patient-clinician, and inter professional interactions to identify communication patterns and deploy this as a structured tool when supervising and developing junior colleagues * Draw on inter professional perspectives to examine persistent communication challenges, including those rooted in team dynamics, hierarchy and organisational culture * Lead high stakes conversations with precision and confidence across health behaviour change, risk communication shared decision-making, prognosis and end-of-life * Pressure test advanced communication in a psychologically safe environment using highly specialised simulated patients to rehearse scenarios that real clinical time rarely allows * Build a transferable personal framework for communication excellence that operates across patient care, team leadership, supervision and institutional influence.
