Electric Umbrella’s Big Yellow Choir is a community choir with a difference.
Our mission is to enrich lives through music by challenging perceptions of people with learning disabilities and the Big Yellow Choir does exactly that!
We put people with and without learning disabilities together and make wonderful music. You don’t have to be able to sing, you don’t have to be able to read music. You don’t even have to be able to read or speak. Everybody contributes at their own level and everybody has fun.
We sing all sorts of music, from pop classics to recent chart hits, from Bowie to Gaga, and everything in between.
Right now all our sessions are currently online only using technology as cleverly as we can to make the music continue to sparkle and fizz until we can get back together in person.
We now have TWO weekly Big Yellow Choirs:-
Tuesday: National choir made up of anyone outside of Hertfordshire
Wednesday: Our Hertfordshire choir.
Zoom doors open for chat at 6.30 with the singing starting at 7pm. Finish 8pm.
Choir members pay a monthly fee, but if you’d like to drop in for a FREE taster session and see what we’re about, please contact us at aW5mbyB8IGVsZWN0cmljdW1icmVsbGEgISBjbyAhIHVr or drop a message to us via Facebook and we will sort you out with a zoom code.
