From the first Nordefest in 1978 until now, the location has been the same but the items for sale have changed. There was an entire Christmas market that had handmade ornaments, rosemaling, dala horses, and more.
Modern Nordefest is now Nordefest PLUS. There is a mix of heritage on display as well as traditional baked goods for sale from multiple countries. Krumkake, rosettes, donuts, and more.
The day begins at 8:30am with Grandma's Attic (ironically located in the basement). Search for treasures at this Pay What You Want rummage sale.
Then promptly at 9:30 is the sale of lefse that has been handmade by our volunteers at the church.
From there you can enter into the Fellowship Hall to get your breakfast of donuts, fresh lefse, and homemade caramel rolls. There are booths all around the hall with treats and fun crafts for sale. Krumkake, cookies, more donuts, rømmegrøt (bread pudding), cakes and more are all for sale in the bakery.
At about 10:45 lunch is set up.
Lunch this choice of soup and sandwich, pie, and coffee.
Soup options are: Knoephla soup, which is a German dumpling soup or our Beef & Barley soup brings people back every year! Sandwiches are homemade BBQ or Sliced Pork Loin on a big fresh bakery bun. This year we will also be offering GLUTEN FREE lunch items for our friends and neighbors with Celiac Disease and other conditions.
Fun for everyone!
