- **Event Description**: The Cedar Valley Hospitality House, a 501c3 charitable entity, is a daytime homeless shelter in Waterloo providing hospitality Monday through Friday 9am - 4pm. The Hospitality House offers a light breakfast and daily lunch as well as access to shower and laundry facilities. In addition, free clothing, backpacks, coats, blankets, food sacks, social service advocacy, an address for mail, telephone messaging, and local bus tickets for appointments are also available for guests at the Hospitality House. 

The Cedar Valley Hospitality House maintains a warming center to support the unhoused population during the winter months. The warming center will be open January through March nightly from 8pm - 7am, providing an overnight warm and secure place to stay with snacks, clothing, shower facility, and housing assessment for housing placement. 

To raise money in support of this facility, we are hosting our 3rd annual fundraising 5k walk in February, one of the coldest months of the year and the month known for love. This walk will both start and end at the warming center, allowing participants to see what they are supporting and to experience the frigid elements that are a daily reality for guests at the warming center. Coffee, hot chocolate, and donuts will be provided prior to the walk and warm soup will be provided following the walk.

Individual Registration/Sponsorship Fee: $30 per walker.
Pay at the door: $35 per walker. 
***Walkers may individually pay to walk or be sponsored by individuals from the community not walking!
