Each poem, known as a waterford, is only 24 syllables long. Winners come from all over the globe. Molly Twomey, this year's judge, will be reading from her own poetry collections, presenting awards to the winners and announcing live the waterford of the year.This year there is an additional feature to proceedings because the first ever anthology of waterfords is being launched. Entitled "Duanaire - collected waterfords" it is edited by Kevin MacAlan, published by West Waterford Press, and features poems from more than 90 poets. To add to the party atmosphere there will be live music and refreshments.
