Stars at Night Lantern-Making Workshop (Sat All Day) with Tom Meskell for Well Festival 2018
Waterford Healing Arts Trust is looking for Waterford people to take part in lantern-making workshops to help them to light up the night at University Hospital Waterford (UHW) as part of the Well Festival of Arts and Wellbeing 2018. Arising out of the joy and excitement around his Night Flowers project for Well in 2017, artist Tom Meskell returns with a celestial theme to light up the night sky outside UHW. “Stars at Night” will involve the lighting up of dozens of individually created star lanterns – sculptures shaped around a wire frame and lit from within – to be created by the Waterford community. Anyone over 15yrs is welcome to take part – No experience is necessary. The resulting Night Stars will be lit up at UHW every night from Monday 8 to Friday 12 October during this year’s Well Festival of Arts and Wellbeing, which celebrates participation in the arts by all.
