Re-Made in Waterford; Social Enterprise & The Circular Economy
With the onset of climate change and a growing understanding of the dangers of single use plastic and the throw away culture to our planet and our society we are taking a look at what is called the Circular Economy.
This event is a facilitated workshop and idea generation session to introduce the potential of the re-use, remake and re-cycle economy to social & community enterprises in Waterford. Guest speakers are Claire Downey - Community Re-Use Network Ireland and Dr.Sarah Miller, CEO, Ballymun Rediscovery Centre. The day will conclude with a facilitated idea generation session to encourage new thinking and brain storming towards practical and new ideas to look at how Waterford can develop social and community businesses that focus on the circular economy.
The event is free, will include lunch and a tour of the Traditional Skills workshop with craft items made in the unit on display.
