Madrigallery has a long standing reputation for delivering high-end performances in collaboration with professional musicians and soloists from Ireland and beyond. The concert is set to delight and surprise with a lovingly curated repertoire of musical gems spanning many centuries, styles and genres.
Concert goers will be treated to intricate choral arrangements of works by Ola Gjelo, Mark Hayes, Charles Villiers Standford, Luiz Bonfa, Michael John Trotta and Joni Mitchell, to name just a few. Of course, there will be Madrigals as well! The concert also features a selection of exquisite guest musicians:
Accompanist – Oonagh Drohan
Bass – Roger Brown
Guitar – John Moloney
Drums – Cormac O’Connor
And as a very special support ensemble, Madrigallery are delighted to present LIBRA STRING QUARTET, consisting of Eimear Heeney, Nataliya O’Neil, Victoria Birlea and Gerri Dunne. This professional quartet will both elevate the choral programme and perform a solo set on the night.
Madrigallery’s musical director, Pauline Kennedy, is a music graduate from W.I.T. (now SETU), Pauline specialised in Choral Music and Early/Renaissance Music. She conducted the W.I.T. Madrigal group and several other choirs and school orchestras, including Edmund Rice Choral Society and occasionally Ad Hoc Chorale Choir, with which she also sang.
