S. Coast Guard Academy in 1990 earning a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science.He later attended the University of Phoenix and earned a Master of Science in Computer Information Systems in 2003.In 2011, he earned an Executive Certificate in Diversity Strategy from Georgetown University.He is adept in both the technical and human resource fields and managed budgets ranging up to $415M. He has received numerous awards including the Coast Guard Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal, two Commendation Medals and one Coast Guard Achievement Medal during his career.In February of 2012, he earned his first national award, the Black Engineer of the Year Award (BEYA) Career Achievement   Government Sector and in February 2013 he received his second national honor, the Stars & Stripes Award at the 8thAnnual Stars & Stripes Dinner honoring top African American leaders in the Armed Forces."
