Experience the magic of the holiday season with Main Street Washington's Wonderland Holiday Events! Presented by Jessica Yoder & Sarah Bigley, Realtors, our downtown and the surrounding community will be filled with festive cheer and activities for the whole family.
Join us on November 29th for a day packed with fun. Start the morning with Breakfast with Santa, where you can enjoy pancakes, meet Santa and Mrs. Claus, and make a holiday craft. Presented by Community 1st Credit Union and Stairway to the Stars, this event takes place at the UP Church from 8 am to 10 am. Madison Fishback Photography will be set up to take your family picture!
Afterward, lace up your shoes for the Jingle Bell Fun Run, a festive race through downtown Washington. Don’t forget to wear your best holiday costume! The day continues with the Reason for the Season variety show at the Washington High School Auditorium at 1 pm, a show featuring dancing, singing, and a special appearance by Santa.
As you explore, be sure to Shop & Explore the Wonderland Trail on November 28th and 29th. This year, we're featuring four themed quadrants: Gingerbread Boulevard, Candy Cane Avenue, Reindeer Way, and Snowflake Lane. Businesses will be decorating their windows/storefronts for your enjoyment!
As evening approaches on November 29th, gather outside the Washington Public Library for a Live Radio Play at 5 pm, featuring classic Christmas episodes broadcast on KCII. Then, at 6 pm, join us at the Bandstand for the annual Downtown Memorial Tree Ceremony & Lighted Parade, presented by Hills Bank. Following the ceremony, the 30th Annual Lighted Holiday Parade will circle downtown. Horse-drawn carriage rides will be available before and after the parade in Central Park!
After the parade, visit Santa's House, presented by Washington State Bank, at the Washington Public Library to deliver your wish lists and take photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
The holiday festivities continue into December with the Candlelight Tour of Homes on December 6th and 7th, showcasing beautifully decorated homes for the season. You can also experience the beautiful Nutcracker Ballet, presented by Elizabeth's Academy of Classical Ballet, at the Washington Community Theater (date TBA).
Come celebrate the most wonderful time of the year with us! We can't wait to see you there.
