- **Event Description**: Camino and Carry On are 3-minute puppet shows with live music for an audience of one: YOU!About this EventCamino and Carry On are 3-minute puppet shows created by Cecilia Cackley and Kara Turner in the tradition of teatro lambe-lambe; a Brazilian form of street theater that features small puppets performing inside a box for one audience member at a time. While lambe-lambe traditionally uses a recorded musical soundtrack for each show, Cackley and Turner have partnered with WWJF to push the boundaries of the form and experiment with improvised accompaniment, ensuring each spectator experiences an entirely different show. Featuring music by Melinda Rice, Amy K Bormet, and live improvisation by Sarah Fridrich.--Since 2011, Amy K Bormet has produced the Washington Women In Jazz to spotlight the women and non-binary jazz artists of Washington, DC and their collaborations with national and international artists. Held annually in March, the Washington Women In Jazz Festival includes an Emerging Artist Showcase, elevating young musicians and providing opportunities to connect with professional musicians. The festival is rounded out with a continuously evolving slate of workshops, jam sessions, and concerts.
