Tools and Tips for Cross-Border Data Journalism Projects

Tools and Tips for Cross-Border Data Journalism Projects

Join us on Wednesday, February 13, 2019, for a Talks @ Pulitzer conversation with ICFJ Knight Fellow Jacopo Ottaviani of Code for Africa as he presents recent data journalism initiatives produced in partnership with African journalists–projects such as the Pulitzer Center-supported Kruger's Contested Borderlands, Shifting Sands, and InfoNile.

Ottaviani and the Pulitzer Center's Steve Sapienza will discuss the growing use of data journalism in Africa's newsrooms, tips for organizing cross-border collaborations, and how civic technology capacity is influencing the use of open data and open governments in certain African countries.

Ottaviani works as the Chief Data Officer at Code for Africa, where he runs the Knowledge Programme with researchers, designers, developers, journalists, and trainers as part of an international team of 30 people. He is on Twitter at @JacopoOttaviani.
