The Courage to Remember: Helping Young People Navigate Loss and Traumatic Grief
Instructor: Stephanie Handel, LICSW
Cost: $180, 6 CEUs
For children and adolescents growth is dynamic. The foundation for their emotional sense of self is developing and heavily influenced by relationships and experiences. When a child or teen experiences the death of someone important their entire world is impacted, and important questions can surface; who will take care of me, will I remember this person, why did this happen? Having access to a mental health provider who understands the development impact of grief and who can support them during this grief journey is an integral part of this journey. This six-hour training will provide the foundation for this process. Grounded in theory and infused with practical skill-building activities, this workshop provides participants with vital knowledge about grief in children and teens and tools to help them heal.
Participants are provided with a light breakfast, all materials, and a CEU certificate. Lunch will be on your own. The Wendt Center follows all Federal Government weather related closures. Should the Federal Government close or have a 2 hour delay this workshop will be rescheduled.
