Teacher Leadership Course 1: Adult Learning and Leadership
OSSE is pleased to partner with the National Network of State Teachers of the Year (NNSTOY) to offer Course 1: Adult Learning and Leadership. This half-day training will introduce research-based advanced learning methods that help foster collaboration to initiate and sustain change in your school community. Leadership is a crucial role for educators, and this training will help teachers and teacher leaders (a) identify leadership goals, (b) share expertise with peers, (c) learn how to address school-based issues, and (d) impact student performance.
Specifically, this training will enhance your ability to:
Understand what it means to be a teacher leader
Apply an adult learning theory in your leadership context
Facilitate effective teacher teams
Learn principles for designing and implementing change
This training is open to all educators serving in public and public charter schools in the District.
Please register by Friday, Jan. 18, 2019. Participants will receive four OSSE professional learning units. Additional teacher leadership courses will be offered later in 2019. View flyer
