Throughout the workshop, participants will be offered gentle prompts and may choose to respond through poetry, journaling, or free writing. There is no right or wrong way to participate.The afternoon will close with optional time for reflection, sharing written pieces, and group discussion. No prior writing experience is necessary — just bring curiosity, openness, and yourself. As a multicultural lesbian, Giovonni is dedicated to creating safe and affirming spaces for healing within communities of color and LGBTQ+ individuals. She is a writer, poet, and speaker who finds joy in providing a sacred space that allows adults to connect, heal, and regulate their emotional and nervous system.As a survivor who found her voice through writing and music, she understands what it means to carry what can't be spoken. Now, she curates trauma-informed workshops where survivors an marginalized communities can process grief, reclaim joy, and build authentic connection.She believes creative expression isn't a luxury. It's survival. And healing happens in community, not isolation.Rock Recovery is a nonprofit based in Arlington, VA whose mission is to make life-saving eating disorder treatment and support accessible to all. Founded in 2009, Rock Recovery exists to help people break out of isolation and find real freedom from disordered eating and body image issues. Rock Recovery offers holistic, affordable individual and group outpatient eating disorder therapy to adolescent and adults. Services are provided in person in Arlington, VA and virtually to residents of VA, DC, and MD.To date, Rock has provided more than 700 individuals with life-changing eating disorder therapy and provided education and support to nearly 22,000 more.
