Thomas Wells • Assemblage ArtistFeature Art: Existing, Encaustic (pigmented beeswax) and lace fabric on two wood panels, 48" h x 92", 2026 by artist Carolyn Goodridge is shown as the feature art for our September exhibition. This month's show serves to honor our right to life, for all living beings! , The Right to Life.During the evening the artist will give us a deep dive into quantum science language. "Existing" brings us her visualization of the superposition of life, death, and love, using the "Mausoleum Tree" and butterflies. The "Mausoleum Tree", as Goodridge gave it it's name, was a magnificent sculpture of a "dead" tree before it was cut down for firewood. Yet, for her it was also more than one thing. It was dead, but not dead. Alive but not alive. Both and neither. Join us for this short presentation on how art speaks quantum physics, most certainly bringing to life the observer effect. All artist and art collectors realize the truth of this. Enjoy the exhibition and this special viewing and artist talk about this expansive eight foot painting. The purpose of Youth for Human Rights International (YHRI) is to teach youth about human rights, specifically the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and inspire them to become advocates for tolerance and peace. "description": "The purpose of Youth for Human Rights International is to teach youth about human rights, specifically the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and inspire them to become valuable advocates for tolerance and peace.\r\rChildren are the future. They need to know their human rights and know that they must take responsibility to protect themselves and their peers. As they become aware and active in this cause, the message travels far and wide, and someday universal human rights will be a fact, not just an idealistic dream.\r\rThe United Nations General Assembly proposed that the Universal Declaration of Human Rights “be disseminated, displayed, read and expounded principally in schools and other educational institutions, without distinction based on the political status of countries or territories” (United Nations, 1948).\r\rThe charter of Youth for Human Rights International is to forward that aim with simple yet empowering, high-quality human rights education materials for youth, teachers, officials—anyone.\r\r“We are here because we know that literacy is the key to unlocking the cage of human misery; the key to delivering the potential of every human being; the key to opening up a future of freedom and hope. We are here to open a decade that must translate that hope into reality.” —Kofi Annan, Former Secretary-General, United Nations"
