ABOUT THE SHOW
Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with us! In this playful and highly interactive presentation, Cantaré introduces preschool and Kindergarten audiences to songs, rhythms, and instruments from Latin America. Students sing in Spanish, Portuguese, and English, dance, and play percussion instruments with the artists.
TIME AND PLACE
Performances will take place at 9:30am and 11am in the Helen Hayes Gallery of The National Theatre, located at 1321 Pennsylvania Ave NW, Washington, DC 20004.

Please reserve tickets to the 9:30 AM or 11 AM performance. Registration is FREE but donations are welcome. Please note that you must register before adding an optional donation!
AUDIENCE
This performance is ideal for children ages 3-6 but all are welcome!

This performance will be ASL-interpreted. The space is wheelchair accessible.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Based in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area, Cantaré's mission is to offer high-quality musical performances that also inform audiences about Latin American geography, history, and culture. Cantaré is lead by vocalist Cecilia Esquivel and guitarist Dani Cortaza, both from Argentina. Vocals are accompanied by several live string and percussion instruments from Latin America, plus bass percussion and keyboard backing tracks. Additional members of Cantaré come from a core group of accomplished Latin musicians residing in the Washington Area. Cantaré has released 4 recordings: three CDs for children – Baila para Gozar (2002) Al Agua Pato (2005) and Mucha Música (2014) and one CD for adult audiences – Evaluna by Cantaré and Friends (2005). In addition, in 2006 Cantaré recorded the companion CD for the award-winning book Arrorró mi Niño: Latino Lullabies and Gentle Games by renowned children's author and illustrator Lulu Delacre.
