We made Ruck This City in two unique formats.
The 12 Mile Ruck This City course is perfect for those looking to test themselves, have some fun and overcome a wide range of challenges in a race across New York City.
The 30 Mile Ruck This City is for the battle-hardened warriors that are ready to push themselves to the absolute limits, seeing what they are made of as they do everything they can to make it to the finish.
Be The Best, Be Recognized
While Ruck This City is all about testing personal limits, it is also a competition.
Before the race, our team sets a time standard that indicates excellence for each course. If your team finishes faster than the time standard, you will be recognized with a Challenge Coin Award, in addition to being honored alongside all finishers of the race.
Warrior In You will donate five percent of proceeds to Homes For Our Troops, a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization dedicated to building and donating specially adapted custom homes for severely injured post-9/11 Veterans.

WHAT IS RUCK MARCHING?
Ruck marching (also known as a loaded march) is a tactical fitness activity in which you carry a weighted pack over a distance. See more regarding ruck training here.
HOW LONG WILL RUCK THIS CITY TAKE?
This is dependent on your level of fitness, however you should expect the 12 mile course to take 4-5 hours, and the 30 mile course to take 11-13 hours to complete.
HOW MUCH WEIGHT SHOULD I CARRY?
For beginners, we recommend a starting point of 10% of your body weight. Those that maintain an active lifestyle should pack 20 lbs of weight. Experienced athletes should pack 35lbs of weight, which matches the Army standard for the final march in Basic Combat Training.
HOW HARD IS THE EVENT?
This depends on your level of fitness and preparation, however ruck marching is an activity that anyone can participate in. Unlike marathon running, the risk of injury is low, and the variation in RUCK THIS CITY checkpoint challenges allow participants with different skills to thrive.
CAN I SIGN UP FOR RUCK THIS CITY ALONE?
Absolutely, that's the best way to meet a new battle buddy. We will pair you with other individual participants.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO RUCK THIS CITY?
Wear comfortable shoes or boots and weather appropriate attire.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING TO RUCK THIS CITY?
While we expect that military or hiking style packs will be the most comfortable, any backpacks or weight vests are welcome. Additional gear recommendations are listed on our TRAINING page here.
DO I NEED TO BRING MY OWN WEIGHTS?
Yes, pack your weight before arriving at the event. Additional gear will be issued upon your arrival based on the days challenges.
WILL THERE BE WATER AT RUCK THIS CITY?
Yes, we will have water at the start point and at points throughout the course.
IS THERE A MINIMUM AGE TO PARTICIPATE?
18 years old.
WHEN DO I NEED TO ARRIVE?
Arrive at least 30 minutes before start time for accountability and gear issue.

Participants are responsible for coordinating transportation to the event, and for parking at the event.

WHAT'S THE TRANSFER AND REFUND POLICY?
We understand that life happens. We can accomidate free transfers as late as 7 days from your event date, and free cancelations 14 days prior to event date.
DO I HAVE TO BRING MY PRINTED TICKET TO THE EVENT?
