This section of forest showcases the beauty and diversity of some of DC's greatest green spaces right here in Ward 8--help us keep it beautiful!Come dressed in your Halloween costumes and pickup trash through the haunted forest, then exchange it for treats at the end. Enter your costume to win a prize in the costume contest, too!We also encourage families to check out the museum after the hike. Families are welcome. Please include everyone in your party when registering. All minors must attend with an adult.Nature Every Month is Soul Trak Outdoors’ year-round series creating accessible opportunities for our community to get outside, try something new, and build a deeper connection with nature.No experience necessary. Just come ready to spend a day outside with us.What to Bring:Yourself in-costume!Weather appropriate layersWater bottleAbout the trail:George Washington Carver (1864 –1943), was an African-American scientist, naturalist and professor who served as chairman of the Agriculture Department of the Tuskegee Institute in Alabama. He was an early promoter of cover crops and organic fertilizers, and promoted crops, like peanuts and sweet potatoes, that could provide affordable nutrition and restore soil depleted by decades of cotton growing. Carver was also an avid naturalist who constantly observed and recorded the natural world around him.
