I started hiking two years ago during the COVID-19 pandemic. At the time, I felt like my life was spiraling out of control. I was dealing with the loss of my grandmother while battling depression and anxiety. In addition, I was working an unfulfilling job that led to unnecessary stress and delayed productivity. Then one day, my inner spirit nudged me to seek refuge in nature. It was during this first hike where I instantly felt comforted amongst the trees, the chirping of the birds and stillness of the Potomac River. From that point, I hiked different trails in the DMV area where I meditated and did some self-reflection on my life. Every experience made me feel more nourished, centered, and connected to my true nature. \r\rMy new found zest for life inspired my decision to build a community of kindred souls interested in exploring nature and one’s self. We are all tackling and navigating life challenges, but I’m a firm believer that life is a puzzle. We each have a piece of the puzzle, but collectively we can bring those pieces together and share how to live a happier, peaceful, and balanced life.
