GW BPHSN: 10th Annual Communities of Color Health Conference
The Black Public Health Student Network (BPHSN) at The George Washington University Milken Institute School of Public Health (GWSPH) would like to invite you to participate in our annual convening, the Communities of Color Health Conference, on Friday, February 22, 2019
We are excited to celebrate our tenth year hosting this conference! This year, the theme is, “Us Too: A Health and Healing Movement for Women of Color.” The viral #MeToo movement has created a platform to address public health issues, such sexual assault, however the experiences of women of color are often silenced or unheard. Through this conference, we hope to broaden the scope to include the perspectives of women of color nationally and globally by shedding light on the disparities our communities face in regard to sexual assault, reproductive health/ justice, and trauma. This convening will provide a safe space for attendees to learn and engage in dialogue about these relevant public health topics from a holistic approach and to take collective action to healing in their respective communities and greater society.
Lite morning refreshments and boxed lunches will be provided. Registration will begin at 9:00 a.m.
