- **Event Description**: This Sunday, we are embarking on a Great Post-Valentine’s Adventure, which is a technical term for "driving into the desert to look at dirt because we forgot to buy chocolates last week."

Our destination is The Great Chamber, which sounds like a place where a Bond villain would monologue before dropping you into a pit of laser-equipped hamsters. We will also be visiting The Belly of the Beast and The Famous Sand Caves of Kanab, which are essentially just very high-quality holes in the ground.

The Plan (Subject to Reality)
9:00 AM: We meet at Koral Kafe. We will be "carpooling," which is an ancient tribal ritual where we try to figure out whose upholstery we care about the least.

The Vehicle Situation: The Great Chamber requires a serious off-road vehicle. Ideally, you will be driving a Toyota FJ Cruiser, which is—scientifically speaking—the Greatest Vehicle Ever Built in the History of the Universe. However, if you do not own an FJ, a Jeep will "do," in the same way that a soggy sandwich "will do" if you are stranded on a deserted island.

Consolidation: If we run low on 4x4s, we will consolidate at the trailhead. This means the people in the sensible sedans will be transferred into the FJs (for a luxury experience) or the Jeeps (for a "vibrational" experience).

The Zion Thru-Way: We want fewer cars for the drive through Zion National Park to keep things simple and avoid the wrath of the park rangers.

The Entry Fee: Every car needs a National Parks Pass. Please ensure yours hasn't expired since the Bush administration.

The Reward
After we have successfully inhaled enough red dust to constitute a light snack, we are heading to the Equally Famous Oscar’s in Springdale for lunch.

Important Note: If you are driving an FJ Cruiser, please try not to look too smug while the Jeep owners check their engine lights.
