Join us for one of WCC’s favorite traditions, the Frank Havens Memorial 10K, honoring our own Olympic Gold & Silver Medalist Frank Havens! The 10K racecourse on the Potomac is in honor of Frank’s 1952 Helsinki Olympic Gold Medal in the C-1 10,000m event.

Race Details:
There are many classes to choose from, including Short Boat (up to 16’) and Long Boat (16.5’ and up). All boats must be fat, slow, non-racing open canoes (no Kevlar or carbon fiber), paddled by two people using single blades. And yes, Halloween costumes are strongly encouraged! ?

No canoe? No problem!
Just show up on Saturday morning and check in to be assigned a club canoe. There are usually folks looking to race and in search of partners. This is one of the best days at the club — you won’t want to miss it!

Entry Fee:
$25 per racer includes the race, a hearty post-race lunch, and a shot at the best award in all of sport!
$15 for lunch only (non-racers welcome!)
After the race, stick around for lunch, awards, and plenty of good company with WCC members and friends old and new.

Not racing? We need VOLUNTEERS!
Volunteers make it happen. We’re looking for folks to help with race officiating, set up, food prep and serving, and clean-up.
