About the event

Documentary Screening
Documentary screening on youth-led civil rights activism, honoring Howard University students and Black–Jewish solidarity.

About this Event

Join Youth Democracy Institute for a special documentary screening of Ain’t No Back to a Merry-Go-Round, highlighting the true story of five Howard University students whose leadership helped desegregate Glen Echo Amusement Park in a nearby Maryland suburb. The evening features a post-film conversation with award-winning filmmaker Ilana Trachtman exploring youth power, collective action, and the lasting legacy of student leadership.

This event is part of Youth Democracy Institute’s Leadership & Legacy Series, a flagship initiative advancing civic leadership, democratic engagement, and a multi-generational pipeline for young people ages 10–24.
