The Certified Nonprofit Accounting Professional (CNAP) program, to be hosted by CBM - Councilor, Buchanan & Mitchell P.C. on Sept 16-17, 2019 is a two-day training and exam-based certificate program intended to provide nonprofit bookkeepers, staff accountants and non-CPA professionals with the rigorous professional development they need to be effective financial managers for their nonprofit employers.
The CNAP training, managed by Nonprofit CPAs, an alliance of CPA firms that serves nonprofits around the country, was developed to recognize excellence in the nonprofit industry through comprehensive qualification, training, and examination. CBM is the one Washington, DC-area firm eligible to lead the CNAP training.
Each training program is open to nonprofit financial professionals and the online registration option will close three days before training begins. As part of the registration process, you will be asked about those nonprofit financial management topics of greatest interest to you. A link to the training curriculum is below for your review.
Is this Course Right For You?
Eligible applicants must have at least 18 months of experience in a financial position within a nonprofit organization and submit a letter of attestation from either a past or present employer to verify work experience. (Letters may be submitted by filling out the form on CBM's website accessible via this link.)
Participants who do not yet have 18 months of experience may still participate but will not be issued a certificate of completion until they have reached that benchmark.
Also, before registering, it is recommended that potential attendees review the training curriculum to ensure the CNAP program will meet their professional development needs.
Attendees who participate are invited to bring their organization’s Form 990 and audited financials to refer to during the course (though this is not required). For CPAs interested in CNAP, CBM is authorized to offer CPE (Continuing Professional Education) credit through the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy.
Don’t miss out on this opportunity to advance your career through this skills-development and certificate training for nonprofit financial professionals. Register now.
