AI Applications Today and Tomorrow

*DUE TO INCREASED SECURITY MEASURES, ALL ATTENDEES MUST BE REGISTERED FOR AUSA ANNUAL MEETING AND HAVE THEIR BADGE TO ACCESS THIS PANEL DISCUSSION.*

Artificial intelligence is perhaps the phrase with the most buzz in the Department of Defense. But what does artificial intelligence mean and how will it be applied? Already, senior leaders have talked about using artificial intelligence for predictive maintenance, logistics, image processing and humanitarian relief. The Army is using AI to help prioritize the information that electronic warfare officers can see. But it’s also starting to be used for cybersecurity purposes, counterjamming and robotics. And Lt. Gen. Jack Shanahan, the head of the Pentagon’s Joint Artificial Intelligence Center, recently told C4ISRNET that “I don't think there is any part of C4ISR that does not have the potential to be improved through AI-enabled capabilities.”

During this event, we will discuss where AI has already made a difference, where it can make a difference in the near future, what kind of infrastructure is needed to make AI more ubiquitous, what obstacles remain and how Pentagon leaders see this technology integrating with the current force.
