Hip -Hopper since a toddler, Glo composed her first raps at the age of 4. Poetry and spoken word came many years later. As a performer she brings an intangible energy that engages and informs her audience. She was a featured at such national venues as Nicolas Bookstore in Brooklyn, Tuesday Verses in Richmond, VA and Wednesday Verses, Honfleur Gallery, Big Chief, Ivy City Smokehouse in Washington, DC, and the renowned Apache Café in Atlanta, GA. She has also featured and hosted at several notable venues in Hampton Roads Virginia: including the Chrysler Museum, The Harrison Opera House, Old Dominion University, Hampton University, Downing Gross Community Center, The Funny Bone and the Newsome House. In 2016, Glo Shines had the privilege of being the opening act for the legendary Dick Gregory. She has performed for and worked with the public school systems of Norfolk, Hampton, and Newport News.
