Dear BCC Student,
You have been identified as a high performing student at Bronx Community College in a STEM curriculum. We will be taking 50 students to the Black Engineer of the Year Award (BEYA) STEM conference in Washington, DC during February 8 - 10, 2019. BEYA is the top national conference focusing on minorities in STEM fields in the country.
It is sponsored by Lockheed Martin Corporation, the Council of HBCU Engineering Deans, and US Black Engineer & Information Technology magazine. Bronx Community College is the only Community College invited to BEYA and we have been participating with our students since 2003. BEYA also is the first opportunity for BCC students to see and meet successful minority professionals in STEM fields.
Over the years BCC students have enjoyed the opportunity of meeting and networking with corporate executives, engineers/scientists, inventors, and students from other colleges and universities in the country. The experience has provided our students with a glimpse of the world of possibilities as they advance their learning and career goals. BCC students were also able to secure summer internships and scholarships for four-year schools.
