Saturday, November 22, 2025 1:00pm-3:30pm Warwick Valley Community Center 11 Hamilton Avenue Warwick, NY 10990 International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day is an event in which survivors of suicide loss come together to find connection, understanding, and hope through their shared experience. International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day started in 1999, following the passage of a U.S. Senate resolution introduced by Senator Harry Reid, who lost his father to suicide. The day is dedicated to providing support, connection, and healing for individuals who have lost a loved one to suicide and is sponsored by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). In the US it is observed annually on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Each AFSP chapter hosts their own local event or video conferences. In Orange County, New York this will be the 15th Annual of hosting the in person event. Organized by Judy Battista mental health advocate, a survivor of suicide loss, and board members of the AFSP Hudson Valley/Westchester NY Chapter. It's a day when survivors can look around the room and realize they are not alone.
