Philip Vermeulen to niderlandzki artysta, który bada podstawy ludzkiej percepcji. Jego instalacje są doświadczane całym ciałem, jednocześnie podważając fizyczność światła i dźwięku, ruchu i wibracji.

Podczas wykładu “Academy of the senses” zbadana zostanie granica, na której spotykają się rzeczywistość materialna i ludzka świadomość. Poprzez eksperymenty ze światłem, wibracjami i ruchem, przeanalizowane zostanie, w jaki sposób można komponować samą percepcję i jak materia może stać się przedłużeniem zmysłów. Zapraszamy publiczność do przestrzeni, w której doznania zyskują strukturę, a granica między fizycznością a percepcją zaczyna się zacierać.

Wykład otwarty, finansowany przez Ambasadę Królestwa Niderlandów, jest częścią wizyty dedykowanej pracowni prof. Anny Klimczak. Spotkaniu towarzyszyć będą warsztaty Master Class dla wykładowców i studentów związanych z tą pracownią.

We would like to invite you to Philip Vermeulen's open lecture ‘Academy of the senses’ on 20 November 2025 at 5 p.m. in lecture hall A1 at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology (Koszykowa 86, 02-008 Warsaw).

Philip Vermeulen is a Dutch artist who explores the foundations of human perception. His installations are experienced with the whole body, while simultaneously challenging the physicality of light and sound, movement and vibration.

The lecture ‘Academy of the Senses’ will explore the boundary where material reality and human consciousness meet. Through experiments with light, vibration and movement, it will analyse how perception itself can be composed and how matter can become an extension of the senses. We invite the audience to a space where sensations take on structure and the boundary between physicality and perception begins to blur.

The open lecture, funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, is part of a visit dedicated to Prof. Anna Klimczak's studio. The meeting will be accompanied by a Master Class workshop for lecturers and students associated with the studio.
