Moritz Weiß Klezmer Trio wystąpi z programem „Modern Klezmer”, w którym tradycja muzyki klezmerskiej spotyka się z jazzem, world music, improwizacją i autorskimi kompozycjami. Zespół powstał w Styrii i od ponad dziesięciu lat rozwija własny język muzyczny, czerpiąc z ekspresyjnej, tanecznej i lirycznej siły żydowskiej muzyki weselnej, ale prowadząc ją ku współczesnym formom brzmienia. W składzie Moritz Weiß na klarnecie, Simon Reithofer na gitarze i Maximilian Kreuzer na kontrabasie, trio tworzy muzykę pełną kontrastów: raz porywającą i błyskotliwą, to znów kameralną, zmysłową i skupioną. Program „Modern Klezmer” to najpiękniejsze i najbardziej energetyczne utwory z trzech wydanych albumów zespołu. Prowadzi on słuchaczy od świata muzyki wschodnioeuropejskich klezmerów po własne kompozycje, improwizacje i interpretacje. W Sopocie koncert zabrzmi w ramach XXI Międzynarodowych Spotkań z Kulturą Żydowską, a zarazem jako część Austrian Summer Sounds, letniego cyklu prezentującego aktualne głosy austriackiej sceny muzycznej.

Veranstalter: Theater Atelier Agnieszka Osiecka, Festival der internationalen Begegnungen mit jüdischer Kultur, Österreichisches Kulturforum Warschau

Das Moritz Weiß Klezmer Trio präsentiert das Programm „Modern Klezmer“, in dem Klezmer-Tradition auf Jazz, World Music, Improvisation und eigene Kompositionen trifft. Das Ensemble entstand in der Steiermark und entwickelt seit über zehn Jahren eine eigene musikalische Sprache, die von der expressiven, tänzerischen und lyrischen Kraft jüdischer Hochzeitsmusik ausgeht und sie in zeitgenössische Klangformen weiterführt. Mit Moritz Weiß an der Klarinette, Simon Reithofer an der Gitarre und Maximilian Kreuzer am Kontrabass gestaltet das Trio eine Musik voller Kontraste: mitreißend und funkelnd, zugleich kammermusikalisch, sinnlich und konzentriert. Das Programm „Modern Klezmer“ versammelt besonders schöne und energiegeladene Stücke aus drei veröffentlichten Alben des Ensembles und führt von der Welt osteuropäischer Klezmorim zu eigenen Kompositionen, Improvisationen und Interpretationen. In Sopot erklingt das Konzert im Rahmen der XXI. Internationalen Begegnungen mit jüdischer Kultur und zugleich als Teil von Austrian Summer Sounds, einer sommerlichen Reihe mit aktuellen Stimmen der österreichischen Musikszene.
