- **Event Description**: Celebrate the life and legacy of Sir Fletcher Jones in style as we launch his biography by award-winning author, Jock Serong.About this EventHeld in the Fletcher Jones building itself, this special event will mark a moment of joy and remembrance, applauding an important new work of Australian non-fiction while honouring the man at the heart of it.Guests can peruse the FJ Stories mural on entry, then head into the car museum, where they will be welcomed with sparkling wine on arrival and be invited to partake of a delicious grazing table while enjoying the displays of memorabilia.Julie Eagles will provide an introduction to the event before a discussion about the book with author Jock Serong in conversation with Gareth Colliton.The bar will be available throughout the remainder of the afternoon, with an opportunity to reminisce and rejoice with fellow guests, and have books signed by Jock.We would love to see examples of Fletcher Jones finery around the room, and so we welcome guests to dress up in FJ outfits for the occasion.Please note:A Suitable Man: The Eccentric Empire of Fletcher Jones is available for preorder with ticket purchase at an exclusive price offered only as part of this launch celebration. Please purchase as an add-on to this ticket if you would like a copy at the event price.The venue for this event is usually closed to the public. It is accessed near the entrance to One Day Studios off Flaxman St (ramp access available).We are grateful for the support of Dean Montgomery who has provided the car museum for our use. Please note that all guests must remain within the event area. Entering roped-off areas is strictly prohibited. Cars are likely to be covered during the event.This event is accessible for wheelchairs and strollers. Babies are welcome to accompany parents but the event is otherwise not suitable for children.
