- **Event Description**: Our team wanted to jump into cold water here in Jefferson County while raising money for a cause that hits close to home, and this is how the Chilly Swim for Kids was born. 
On April 18th, local first responders in Jefferson County are going to jump into Lake Simtustus while raising money for KIDS Center. 

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and local first responders see child abuse cases firsthand, so this cause means a lot to us. We often work with KIDS Center, a non-profit that provides life-changing services to help kids and families overcome the devastating effects of child abuse. They also provide free child safety trainings so everyone in our community can help keep kids safe.

More details are to come. The public is welcome to come down and watch this event; we ask that you park in the upper levels and walk down to the event itself. We should have maps closer to the event. Hopefully KIDS Center representatives will be able to stop by, but we will still have links available if you wish to donate at the event itself. Since this is our first year, only first responders will be jumping into the water during this event. If you can't make it down, we are working to live stream the event so you can watch your first responders jump into chilly water for a great cause!
