Winter weaving workshop with Woven Woodland

Embrace the quiet beauty of winter and explore the timeless art of willow weaving in this hands-on seasonal workshop. Perfect for beginners and experienced crafters alike, this immersive course guides you through the techniques of working willow to create an elegant and practical basket.

Over the course of the workshop, you’ll learn about the properties of willow, how to prepare and handle the materials, and traditional weaving patterns used in basketry and sculptural forms.

Join the us at The Happy River while we cozy up, slow down, and connect with the natural materials, and leave with a handmade piece that reflects the season’s calm and creativity.

No prior experience is needed—just bring your curiosity and a pair of willing hands. All materials and tools are provided.

Arrive from 9am to get settled and have a cuppa. Car park is on site, follow signs down the the makers barn

Please bring a packed lunch – willow weaving is hungry work! Hot chocolate and light festive bites available

Willow weaving can be strenuous, so make sure you are feeling well and ready for a full day of crafting
