Step back in time to the heyday of Chicago blues! When The Untouchables hit the stage at Southern Maltings, you won’t just hear the music — you’ll feel the heartbeat of 1950s rent parties and rumbas. Drawing on the raw, swinging soul of Chess Records legends, this electrifying quartet blend blues, jazz and Latin grooves into something truly infectious. Get ready to move, sway and lose yourself in the rhythm that once kept dance halls alive ‘til sunrise.

With Keith Parker’s fiery blues harp, Peter Ellison’s soulful licks on vintage guitars, Paul “Chuck” Green’s deep and rumbling doghouse bass, and Malcolm “Eddie the Legend” Buckland keeping time with groove-soaked drums — The Untouchables are a masterclass in cool. “These players have lived and breathed the style until it’s so much a part of them that it oozes out of their pores,” raves Live Unsigned. Whether you’re a die-hard blues fan or just fancy something different for your Saturday night, this is the real deal.

The event is being held on the first floor of the Southern Maltings building. Please check with the event organisers if using stairs is problematic. Southern Maltings is the trading name of Ware Arts Centre Limited and is a registered charity (Registered charity no. 276998). All events are run by volunteers and proceeds go towards developing the Southern Maltings into an amazing creative arts centre which will enable us to put on a wider and more frequent range of events and activities for the whole community.
