In Sri Lanka, Vesak is an annual festival of light during May’s full-moon. The celebrations involve acts of generosity and creating lanterns.  

In the lead up to celebrating Vesak, we are hosting 3 creative workshops across different locations in Whanganui.

🪔 Whanganui arts at the centre (19 Taupo Quay) 
      Saturday 11th April, 10am-12pm

🪔 Hakeke Street Community Centre (65 Hakeke Street)
      Sunday 12th April, 10am-12pm

🪔 Duncan Pavilion (Rangiora Street) 
      Sunday 19th April, 10am-12pm 

Learn how to create your own lanterns, take one home or contribute one to our final public display of lanterns in early May.

All materials are provided - just bring yourselves and get those creative juices flowing!
