- **Event Description**: The Creator’s Breath: A Joint Exhibition by Momo and Siu DingAbout this Event【 活動預告?《造物者之息》：Momo、Siu Ding攝影作品展 ??】 ⬬【 Event Preview? ??? ???????’? ??????: A Joint Exhibition by Momo and Siu Ding ?? 】The history of photography is a dialectic of the gaze—of looking and being looked at. Long dominated by the conventions of the "male gaze" in painting and sculpture, photography has always carried an inherent undercurrent of rebellion. From pioneers like Claude Cahun and Francesca Woodman, the camera has served as a vital tool for exploring the boundaries of the body, gender, and the self.In Breath of the Creator, Momo (Sze Siu Yan) @mmomosze and Siu Ding @siuding3 present a dialogue on the intersection of the body, the landscape, and existence.Siu Ding continues her profound exploration of human-form photography, employing a composed and meticulous lens to investigate the power dynamics between subject and observer. Through photography and paper-sculpted installations, she seeks to capture the most primal palpitations beneath the skin.Momo’s creative trajectory, following a period of deep introspection, has undergone a significant transformation. Shifting from the close-up, intimate exploration of the human form, her lens now turns toward the vastness of the mountains and the sea. In her work, the body is no longer merely a subject of the gaze; it dissolves and merges into the landscape. Nakedness is reimagined as an extension of the terrain—integrated into the texture of the mountains and the rhythm of the tides. For her, these images serve as both a shroud for the tumultuous currents of reality and a testament to the reconciliation found in the embrace of nature.Though their creative paths diverge, both artists converge on the themes of existence and boundaries. Over the past four years, the two have collaborated closely, acting as both photographer and subject to examine the shifting power dynamics of intimacy. This exhibition traces their four-year evolution—from the intimate experiments of Trust and Relation, to the observational stillness of Distance, and finally to the quietude of Re-creation and Rest.Breath of the Creator is a joint performance of creation. Siu Ding sculpts truth through the human form, while Momo finds sanctuary for the soul within the landscape. Together, in the wilderness of their imagery, they construct a space that holds trauma, heals memory, and ultimately discovers the coordinates of rebirth—a place where the waves of reality are stilled and the self finds peace.**Certain artworks in this exhibition feature nudity. Sze Siu Yan, MomoMomo Sze is an independent artist who graduated from the Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art) program, co-presented by the Hong Kong Art School and RMIT University (2021).Her practice, rooted in black-and-white photography and poetry, has long explored the way emotions diffuse through space—lingering like pheromones. Following a period of introspection and evolution, her focus has shifted from the earlier exploration of the human body and the boundaries of desire toward a more introspective "wilderness." She casts her gaze upon solitary landscapes carved by light and shadow, treating the scenery as a vessel for emotion. In this realm, mountains, rivers, and voids are no longer merely objective nature, but a visceral enactment of her inner state.? Siu DingSiu Ding uses the body as her core language, transforming the flesh into a site that carries emotion, gender fluidity, and bodily autonomy. As the founder of Hong Kong’ s HK Body Art Collective and a life model herself, she moves freely between both sides of the lens, blurring the boundary between photographer and subject. Her images are minimalist yet poetic: partial torsos, the layering of light and shadow, allowing the body to return to a state of unadorned existence. Her works are often published as handmade books, suchas momome (2023) and Islet (2019). Her collaborative piece with Ada Hung, Twenty-Two Mornings (2011/2012), uses street-based nude photography to document the intimate relationship between personal history and urban space, and has been exhibited at the Hong Kong Heritage Museum and the Pingyao International Photography Festival.⬬工作室贊助 Studio Sponsor：#艺鵠 #ACO @artandcultureoutreach#howtoLüxinginhongkong #ChowSan #周生#Photography #Photobook #PhotographicArt #FooTak#攝影 #攝影書 #攝影藝術 #富德樓#LUMO #Lumospatium #微光虛室 @lumospatium
